Meet Shannon Kelly

Shannon Kelly, Founder Kelly & Co.

Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Shannon grew up dancing under the direction of William Reilly, an original Jerome Robins dancer, and his wife, Shirley, and sister, Sheila. Shannon dedicates her love of teaching and choreography to Mr. Reilly where she learned discipline, technique, dedication, and love for the art of ballet. Upon moving to Savannah, she studied and danced with the Savannah Ballet Company, then directed by Karena Brock-Carlyle, as well as Madeline Walker and Terrell Paulk of Ballet South. Following her initial time in the Savannah area, Shannon moved to Atlanta where she danced professionally with The Atlanta Ballet Company. During her time with Atlanta Ballet, she received her certification in early childhood education with the Montessori Institute of Atlanta. Shannon also studied, taught, and received her certification as a Ballroom dance instructor with Fred Estaire Dance Studios of Atlanta. She has instructed for Kelly & Co. Studios, Savannah Dance Theater, Performing Arts Academy of Savannah, Star Struck Performing Arts Center and Rising Stars Dance Theater of Beaufort. Her repertoire includes directing, choreographing and performing classics such as "The Nutcracker," "Sleeping Beauty," "Swan Lake," "Don Quixote," "Serenade," "Carmina Burana," "Etudes," "Paquita," "Giselle," "Symphony in C," "Midsummer Nights Dream," "West Side Story," and "Four Seasons." Shannon returned to Savannah to attend the Savannah College of Art and Design. Upon her return, she accepted a position at The Savannah Montessori School of Performing Arts as Director of Dance and Primary Classroom Director, and later, Administrator. Shannon has also held the office of President of the Savannah Symphony Women's Guild. Ms. Kelly continues to be regionally and nationally recognized for her choreography and teaching abilities.

Kelly & Co.

Kelly & Co. provides a high level of dance education for students ages four and up. They offer a variety of classes including Ballet, Pointe, Partnering, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, Tap, and Hip-Hop. Since the beginning of her teaching career, Shannon Kelly, owner and director of Kelly & Co., has produced students that have gone on to pursue professional careers, dance in University Conservatory programs, traveled across the country for dance opportunities, and opened their own dance studios. In a short time, students with little previous dance experience have progressed to incredible levels while experienced students continue to push themselves and further develop their skills. In addition, Kelly & Co. proudly offers a pre-professional competitive Company team, which travels to regional venues for conventions, intensives, and competitions.
